Japan, Tohoku
Location Japan, Tohoku
A group of youth will go on a mission, service, and educational tour of Japan in the summer of 2014. This trip is co-hosted by Wesley United Methodist Church in San Jose, CA and the Wesley Foundation in Tokyo. Mission and service opportunities will include:
- Visiting the Tohoku area (working in the areas affected by the tsunami)
- Meeting with the communities of families affect by the earthquake and tsunami disaster
- Spending the afternoon with the children in temporary housing shelter (providing and engaging them in activities)
- Connecting with Fukushima students and their families for dialogue and relationship building (the students attended our summer camp in California in August of 2014.
- Hope to visit the Nozomi Project
- Provide lunches for the homeless in Tokyo
