2017 Fire Storm - Mendocino County
Many survivors of the horrific fires of 2017 find themselves struggling to fully recover primarily due to be un-insured or significantly under-insured! This project is primarily designed to rebuild homes that were destroyed and/or completing small home restoration projects for families impacted by the 2017 North Bay Firestorm in Redwood Valley near Ukiah, CA.
Through a grant from United Methodist Committee on Relief, and in partnership with the Hope Crisis Response Network, the California-Nevada Annual Conference is putting our love in action by helping families rebuild or restore their homes.
- All skill levels are needed, though it is helpful to have at least 1-2 experienced UMVIM or ERT members on your team.
- All participants must complete the necessary paperwork, including the online Safe Sanctuaries training with background check.
- Housing is currently on the campus of a community church with active programs. Beds and showers, kitchen and small living room are available.
