Greetings California-Nevada Conference Family,
Bishop Minerva G. Carcaño decided that, in accord and compliance with directives from California state and county government officials and public health offices in our region, and in consultation with leaders across the connection, that the conference office building will be closed until further notice.
The work of the conference will continue as staff ‘shelter in place’ and telework from home.
Staff continue to have access to their email and conference phone lines, so please reach out as you would under normal circumstances. In person meetings will now take place via conference call or other online conferencing platforms like Zoom. Meeting participants will be notified of the digital gathering space in advance of the day and time selected to meet and work together.
Your conference staff has been and will continue to be hard at work culling and distributing resources around coronavirus to help our community. We realize that when the news changes daily and sometimes hourly it is challenging to know the latest information and how to respond.
Conference staff will continue to distribute information in several different ways – through our weekly conference newsletter, Instant Connection; by posting articles and resources on the conference website’s coronavirus page; and sharing on our social media channels that include Bishop Carcaño’s Facebook and Twitter pages as well as the California-Nevada Conference Facebook and Twitter pages.
Please let us know how your church continues to worship and serve in this time when our buildings are closed and our hearts are full, knowing the need to gather with God and serve our neighbor is greater than ever.
Visit and post what is happening on our social media channels – listed above with links; email me email@example.com or just pick up the phone and give me a call 615 887 8027.
All of our stories are inexorably woven together in all times. Let us share those stories with one another as we build community in new ways.
Blessings and Appreciation,
The United Methodist Church
