Medical professional and non-medical volunteers are needed to sign up for the upcoming Volunteers in Mission (VIM) program based in Guatemala this summer. With only the basic number of doctors and nurses signed up so far, the team leaders are asking for more than just the bare minimum of participants be involved in this important medical mission assignment.
There is critical need for volunteers who are willing to do more than medical procedures. There are openings for volunteers who are interested in interacting with the children and the adults of the communities to be visited, or transporting the medical team, patients and paperwork from one area to another, and helping set-up as well as clean-up the clinic rooms, lunch room, and pharmacy areas.
The mission, sponsored by Walnut Creek United Methodist Church, will provide basic medical care and health education in the Mazatenango region of Guatemala, July 12-22, 2019. Cost is $1,800.
