Hanford First UMC builds COVID-19 cleaning buckets

September 03, 2020

First UMC of Hanford has been called to give “Cleaning Supply Buckets” to ensure families have critical cleaning supplies. Packed with special care, each container holds cleaning supplies that help prevent the spread of COVID-19, including items such as hand sanitizer, gloves, laundry soap, cleaning supplies and other essentials.  We are an outreach church by nature, and we knew we had to do something with the stay at home order in place getting help may seem difficult. We are working with the changing times of the pandemic and bringing supplies to those who are in need.

KCAO (Kings Community Action Organization) will distribute the buckets to families in need. The buckets will also contain printed instructions, in both Spanish and English, from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention about proper hygiene during the pandemic. KCAO has the resources to identify who has a need, and we have the group that wanted to do the supplies and assembly.

We want to let people know that we are here and all in this together. If you have supplies come and give, if you have some things on your shelves, please give. When we share things together, we can get through it together.

We assembled 30 buckets, each bucket costs $ 25 to make. Donations are needed to replace the cost of needed supplies and to assemble additional buckets.

THANK YOU to everyone who helped put together the cleaning buckets and to those who sponsored buckets with their giving. None of this would have been possible without you! Glory to God!
