Ordination Procession for Clergy

June 14, 2019

Elders, deacons, licensed local pastors under appointment, provisional members commissioned towards the elder or deacon track, and associate members are requested to walk in the Ordination Procession.
Meet, robed and ready to go, in the Arbor Theater at 7:10 p.m. on Friday night, June 21. Those being commissioned, ordained, or recognized are to meet for pictures, robed and ready, at 6:30 p.m. in the Arbor Theater.

Dress is as follows:
  • Elders: Wear a robe with a red elder stole
  • Deacons: Wear a robe with a red deacon stole
  • Licensed local pastors, provisional members, and associate members: Wear a robe and a cross if you desire.
Persons who don't have a robe are still welcome to participate in street clothes (please dress professionally), wearing the appropriate stole (or not – depending on what group you are in). For persons who don’t have a robe and would like to wear one, check with circuit colleagues to see if someone has an extra robe.
As requested, this year clergy will also have an opportunity to participate in the offering. Offering plates will be passed to them as well as to the rest of the congregation.
