It’s Time to Plan for a Mission Handcrafts Sale

September 04, 2019

As your church is planning mission activities for the coming year, now is a good time to schedule a Mission Handcrafts sale to benefit mission projects in Bolivia, India, Cambodia, and elsewhere. A sale will benefit not only United Methodist Advance Specials, but also will provide income for the producers of craft items and will support the local economy in some developing countries.
In addition, a sale offers an opportunity for fellowship among members of a sponsoring church. It can also be a tool for outreach to the larger community, through invitations to members of other churches and to the public to come and participate in the purchase of interesting items from around the world.
It’s possible for as few as two interested people to conduct a sale. All items provided by Mission Handcrafts come at no cost to the local church and include an inventory sheet and suggestions for a successful sale. The items are priced with tax included. The local church is asked to pay the cost to return unsold items.
Including the recent sale at this year’s Annual Conference Session in Modesto, Mission Handcrafts has raised a total of $110,372 for 22 different projects around the world.
