A California-Nevada Volunteers in Mission (VIM) team that is going to Guatemala in July still is in need of medical professionals and others. As of now, the basic number of doctors and nurses needed for the mission has signed on, but team leaders would prefer to have more than the bare minimum.
In addition, there is a critical need for other volunteers, who could help with things such as interacting with the children and adults of the communities to be visited, assisting the medical team with transporting patients and paperwork from one area to another, and set-up and clean-up of the clinic rooms, lunch room, and pharmacy.
The mission, sponsored by Walnut Creek United Methodist Church, will provide basic medical care and health education in the Mazatenango region of Guatemala, July 12-22, 2019. Cost is $1,800. Download flyer.
