Breaking Barriers 2020: Methodists Unite in the Fight Against Aids

February 20, 2020

United Methodists across the connection will gather the day before General Conference, May 4, 2020, at Hennepin UMC in Minneapolis to hear from keynote speakers and panelists as well as to share in round table discussions devoted to the elimination of AIDS - the disease and the stigma.

California-Nevada Conference Episcopal Leader Bishop Carcaño was among featured speakers last year at the day long conference in Indianapolis, IN, before the 2019 special called session of General Conference. The United Methodist Global AIDS Committee (UMGAC), sponsoring the event, offers education and advocacy training around HIV and AIDS.

The fight against HIV and AIDS is common ground for all Methodists.  UMGAC reports to General Board of Church and Society. It administers programs across Africa and the United States.

Breaking Barriers 2020 is a day long event. Transportation to and from Hennepin UMC will be provided.
