Bishop MInerva G. Carcaño will be featured in the next United Methodist Women's Faith Talks podcast, October 22nd at 11a PT., exploring the relationship between the church and politics.
UMW's Jennifer Farmer will moderate a panel that includes Bishop Carcaño, the Rev. Dr. Liz Theoharis of the Kairos Center and the Poor People’s Campaign, and United Methodist Women’s Executive for Racial Justice, Emily Jones. The panel will be exploring a range of aspects including what it means to engage politically, the role of church leaders in politics and how people of faith stay centered in faith while advocating in the public square.
Farmer writes, "The session comes weeks before the 2020 election and amid a meandering global pandemic. The goal is to leave the discussion even more committed to be present to what’s happening around us but ever committed to turning our faith, hope and love in action."
The podcast will be recorded via Zoom Video Conference, and you may join via phone or computer.
