The Bay District of the California-Nevada Annual Conference will offer an Advanced Lay Servant Ministries Course in January, using the book The Spirit and Art of Conflict Transformation, by Thomas Porter. Teams from churches are encouraged to attend.
With the understanding that transforming conflict into a positive force is a spiritual pursuit that must be grounded in biblical principles, the resource (Porter's book) outlines processes that we can use to prepare ourselves for the work of engaging conflict.
The course will be offered Saturday, January 11, 2020, 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., at Hope United Methodist Church in South San Francisco. Cost is $15, which includes lunch.
You will need to purchase The Spirit and Art of Conflict Transformation and read it before attending the class. It is available for $16.65 on Amazon, $25 from the Upper Room.
Contact Dee Anne Paron, Bay District Lay Servant Ministries Coordinator, by January 7 at email@example.com or by text to 650-619-7296 to register.
Hope UMC is located at 115 El Campo Drive, So. San Francisco, CA 94080.
