A Palestinian Christian Advent Message

On the 10th anniversary of Kairos Palestine, Saturday, December 14, 2019, Pacific School of Religion (PSR) will host a panel discussion that is sponsored, in part, by the Advocacy and Justice Committee and Israel-Palestine Task Force of the California-Nevada Conference of The United Methodist Church (UMC).
Under the banner "A Cry from Bethlehem to the International Community: A Palestinian Christian Advent Message on the 10th Anniversary of Kairos Palestine," the 10:30 a.m. event will feature as guest speaker Daniel Bannoura, a Palestinian Christian and Instructor of Islamic Studies and Comparative Religion at Bethlehem Bible College.
The Rev. Dr. Dale Weatherspoon, pastor of Easter Hill United Methodist Church in Richmond, California, will serve as a panelist, alongside Rev. Dr. John Anderson, chaplain at St. John’s Presbyterian in San Francisco, and Rev. Dr. Allison Tanner, minister of spiritual formation at Lakeshore Avenue Baptist in Oakland.
Weatherspoon is a former member of the General Board of Church and Society and of the General Commission on Religion and Race.
The Rev. Michael Yoshii, pastor at Buena Vista UMC and chair of the Advocacy and Justice Committee, will serve as moderator.
The Saturday, Dec. 1410:30 a.m. panel discussion will take place in the PSR Chapel, 1798 Scenic Avenue, Berkeley, CA 94709.
