Dear Friends in Faith,
Greetings on behalf of your Conference Committee on Mission Service!
Here is the latest news on mission service opportunities.
Immigration assistance is a major priority of the Western Jurisdiction, of which the Cal-Nev Conference is a part. Among the many ministries, the Pacific-Northwest Conference helps welcome asylum seekers in Tacoma. The Cal-Pac Conference in Southern California hosts immigrants at recently remodeled facility in Claremont, California. The Desert Southwest Conference offers a border ministry in Tucson, Arizona. Each of these welcome volunteers and other support. See the details in this article.
The next installment of the popular virtual missions to Kenya will be August 29th, 31st and September 1st. Sponsored by the Oregon-Idaho Conference, this series of mission presentations focuses on a long-standing relationship with Maua Methodist Hospital. For more details and how to register click here.
And lastly, attached is the August issue of The Mission Connection, the newsletter of our Conference United Methodist Volunteers in Mission – UMVIM Program. This issue announces availability of our recently updated Conference Tool Trailer and mission opportunities at an organic garden in Livermore and at the Conference camps and retreat centers. This month's newsletter can be found by clicking this link
We share Conference mission and outreach opportunities each month. If you have a story you want to highlight, just send an article and photos to me, Justin at justincryu@gmail.com or to Shari Sandoval at sharis@calnevumc.org.
Living in Hope,
