Young Ok Lee

10/11/2018

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

It is with deep sadness that we inform you that our sister, Young Ok Lee, surviving spouse of Rev. In Suk Lee, died on October 11, 2018.

Young Ok was a faithful companion as her husband worked to plant the Peninsula Korean United Methodist Church in 1970, which later changed its name to the Zion Korean United Methodist Church in Sunnyvale, California. He retired in 1990.

Her passion was her faith in God and singing. She was a gifted pianist and a choir member and lead soloist in a Senior Korean choir group. Young Ok also founded a non-denominational Korean-American Christian Wives Association and remained active in that group even in her senior years. She and In Suk spent 16 years doing mission work in China, taking hundreds of Bibles each year to distribute in a country where this task was not an easy one.

She is survived by her children, Eunshin Okumoto of San Francisco, CA; Kwang Min Lee of San Francisco, CA; Daniel Kyung Min Lee of Sunnyvale, CA; Jonathan Jong Min Lee of Los Altos, CA; and 11 grandchildren. Condolences may be sent to Jonathan Jong Min Lee at 27751 Lupine Rd., Los Altos, CA 94022.

Let us continue to give God thanks for Young Ok’s life and witness and hold her family close in prayer. In our living and in our dying, we belong to God! (Romans 14:8)
