Theodore “Ted” Jennings

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
 
It is with deep sadness that we inform you that our brother, Theodore “Ted” Jennings, spouse of Rev. Ronna Case, died on Wednesday, March 25, 2020.
 
Ted was a faithful companion as his wife served in chaplaincy and extension ministries until retiring in 2014.
 
Ted was an American theologian and accomplished writer.  His scholarly work and publications focused on a broad array of topics including Methodism, ritual studies, LGBT rights and queer theology.  He received his Bachelor of Divinity and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from Emory University in 1967 and 1971 respectively.  He also taught for three years at Seminario Metodista in Mexico City and was a Professor of Biblical and Constructive Theology at the United Church of Christ’s Chicago Theological Seminary where he previously served as Acting Academic Dean.
 
He is survived by his wife, Rev. Ronna Case. Condolences may be sent to Ronna at 5050 South East End Avenue 14C, Chicago, IL  60615.
 
The date and time for a memorial service are yet to be determined.
