Rev. William Richard “Dick” Huser

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
 
It is with deep sadness that we inform you that our brother, Rev. William Richard “Dick” Huser, died on Wednesday, September 26, 2018.
 
Dick began his ministry in the E. Oklahoma conference, transferring to our conference in 1955, where he served the Monterey, Georgetown, Sacramento: First (Minister of Visitation), Sierra Pines, and Grass Valley churches, as well as serving in conference positions beyond the local church.
 
In his free time, Dick loved to play golf or write. He authored two books, “The Sinister Minister” and “My Anxiety is Better than Your Anxiety.” As evidenced from these titles, he had quite a sense of humor. He also had a special gift for knowing how to reach people and touch their lives in a special way. He became known as “the cookie man” after greeting prospective homebuyers in his community with coffee and cookies and taking them in his golf cart to tour the model homes. Dick loved Western swing, blue grass, and country music, and was a past president of the Lincoln Kiwanis International club.
 
He is survived by his wife, Arlene Huser, his faithful partner in ministry; his children, Damon Huser of Rescue, CA, Stanley Huser of El Dorado Hills, CA, Daniel Huser of Longmont, CA, and Mark Huser of Davis, CA; and by six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. His former wife, Jane Louise Pomeroy, pre-deceased him in February of 2014. Condolences may be sent to Arlene Huser at 1208 Magnolia Lane, Lincoln, CA 95648.
 
A memorial service will be held on October 27, 2018 at Turkey Creek, 1525 Highway 193, Lincoln, CA 95648 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
