Rev. William Marx

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
 
It is with deep sadness that we inform you that our brother, Rev. William J. “Bill” Marx, died on Monday, March 21, 2022.  
 
Bill served Kings Beach UMC; Truckee, Church of the Mountain; Corcoran, First UMC; Arcata, First UMC; Sebastopol UMC; Chico, Trinity UMC; and Walnut Creek, Tice Valley UMC before retiring in July of 1997.
 
Bill was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 19, 1931. He was a talented musician, playing the viola and violin in a number of orchestras over the years. He also enjoyed playing duets, with his daughter Beth on the piano. Bill also enjoyed travelling and organized several religious studies tour groups over the year.
 
Bill is survived by his daughters, Beth Aiken of Kelseyville CA, Stephanie Hobbs of Windsor CA, and Katherine Marx of Oakland CA, by 4 grand-daughters and by 4 great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his wife Noreen Marx in August of 2020.
