Rev. Taniela Haunga

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
 
As previously shared, it is with deep sadness that we inform you that our brother, Rev. Dr. Taniela Haunga, spouse of Rev. Ofa Haunga, died on December 25, 2019.  
 
Taniela was a high school teacher of math and science, then went on to earn his Doctor of Ministry degree from Claremont School of Theology.  He began his ministry in the California Pacific Conference of the United Methodist Church, serving several churches there. In more recent years, he served as a member of the Church of Tonga.
 
He is survived by his wife, Rev. Ofa Haunga, and by his children Mele Haunga Satini and her husband Harris Satini, Veisinia Lupe Haunga, and Makeleta Lute Haunga Leisi and her husband Ofa Leisi, all of Richmond CA. He was predeceased by his one grandchild Tevita Leisi. Condolences may be sent to Ofa Haunga at 770 Mesa Way, Richmond, CA  94805.
 
An all-night memorial service was held on January 2, 2020. The burial took place on January 3, 2020 at Sunset Cemetery in El Cerrito.

Let us continue to give God thanks for Taniela’s life and witness and hold his family close in prayer.  In our living and in our dying, we belong to God! (Romans 14:8)
