Rev. Susan Berges

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
 
It is with deep sadness that we inform you that our sister, Rev. Susan Berges died on Wednesday, August 9, 2017. Rev. Berges was a champion for the homeless, the lost, and the abused and touched many lives with her compassionate ways.  Outside of her local church, she spent time ministering to inmates at the prison in Ely, and also loved being involved in missionary work that look her all over the United States. For Susan, helping those who couldn’t help themselves was all the reward she ever wanted.
 
As a full time local pastor, Susan served the Ely, Nevada church before retiring in 2011.
 
 She is survived by two children: Sylvia Berges of Portola, CA, and by Suzette Sorensen of Wilmington, DE ; and by four grandchildren. Condolences may be sent to Sylvia Berges at PO Box 1443, Portola, CA  96122.
 
A funeral will be held on August 17, 2017 at 11 am at the Portola United Methodist Church, 396 2nd Avenue, Portola, CA  96122. Rev. Becky Stockdale will preside.
 
Memorial gifts may be sent in Susan’s name to The Committee to Aid Abused Women, 1735 Vassar Street, Reno, NV  89502.
 
Let us continue to give God thanks for Susan’s life and witness and hold her family close in prayer.  In our living and in our dying, we belong to God! (Romans 14:8)
