Rev. Roger B. Knutsen

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
It is with deep sadness that we inform you that our brother, Rev. Roger B. Knutsen, died on Wednesday, March 11, 2020.
Roger began his ministry in the Wisconsin Conference, and transferred into the California-Nevada Conference in 1965. In our Conference he served the Lake Park and Oakland churches in California.  Over the next 21 years he was appointed to service in the US Military Division of Chaplains.  He then served the Caruthers church in the Central Valley of California before retiring in 1986.
Roger was born in Norway and met Marit, his wife of 71 years, at a youth conference in Bergen.  His father also served as a Methodist minister.  He came to the US as a student at Boston University and then made this country his home.  While serving as a military Chaplain, Roger and Marit moved 36 times.  Roger loved literature and reading.
Roger is survived by his wife, Marit Knutsen of Colorado Springs CO, and by his children, Jan-Roger Knutsen of New Lenox  IL, Erik Knutsen of Castle Rock CO, Ruth-Ann Knutsen of Salcon CO, and Wesley D. Knutsen of Colorado Springs CO; by 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Condolences may be sent to Marit at 2728 Freedom Heights, Colorado Springs, CO, 80904.  A private memorial service to remember our brother and friend and commend his soul to God’s eternal care has been held.
Gifts in memory of Roger may be sent to your favorite charity.
Let us continue to give God thanks for Roger’s life and witness and hold his family close in prayer.  In our living and in our dying, we belong to God! (Romans 14:8)
