Rev. Janice Dahl

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
 
It is with deep sadness that we inform you that our sister, Rev. Janice Dahl, died on Saturday, September 14, 2019.
 
Serving first as a Diaconal Minister and later joining the Order of Deacons, Jan served as the director of Sunday school at St. Mark’s UMC in Sacramento, CA until she retired in 2006.
 
Janice traveled all over the world and was described as “very craftsy”; she enjoyed a wide variety of crafts, such as creating personal greeting cards, crochet, and needlepoint. She worked in special education as a teacher, as well as in children’s ministries. Throughout her life’s work she made many friends, all of whom described her as a kind and giving person, accepting of all. 

She is survived by her daughter, Jeanine Ellinwood, of Fair Oaks, CA and six grandchildren. Her daughter, Donna Gorbach, predeceased her in 2010. Condolences may be sent to Jeanine Ellinwood at 4611 New York Avenue, Fair Oaks, CA 95628.
 
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 1 p.m. at St. Mark’s UMC, Sacramento, CA. Rev. Alan Jones and Rev. Donald Fado will preside.
