Rev. James D. Lynn

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
 
It is with deep sadness that we inform you that our brother, Rev. James D. Lynn, died on September 20, 2022.
 
Jim began his ministry as part of the Greater New Jersey Conference. He transferred to the California-Nevada Conference in 1969, and served Sacramento, Wesley; Sacramento, First; Farmersville; Palo Alto, First; Sacramento, Asbury; North Sacramento; Marysville, First; Porterville, First; Mendocino UM Cooperative Parish: Ukiah and Philo congregations before retiring in 1999.
 
Jim was born in Newark, Ohio on January 25, 1938. He was an avid runner for much of his life. He loved learning and teaching. He cherished his personal library and was a lifelong student of Church history and archeology.
 
Jim is survived by his wife, Dianne Lynn, his children David L. Lynn of Grass Valley CA, Jonathan (Jon) M. Lynn of Ventura CA, Pamela L. Willover of Sacramento CA, Terri Sapien of Paradise, TX, and Angela Thomas of Newport, OR, and by 14 Grandchildren and 13 Great-Grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his son David Earl Thomas in September of 2019. 
 
Plans for a memorial service are still pending.

Let us continue to give God thanks for Jim’s life and witness and hold his family close in prayer.  In our living and in our dying, we belong to God! (Romans 14:8)
