Rev. Darrell D. Thomas

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
 
It is with deep sadness that we inform you that our brother, Rev. Darrell D. Thomas, died on Saturday, March 28, 2020.
 
Darrell served the Shattuck Avenue Oakland, First UMC Richmond, Earlimart, Wesley Modesto, St. Paul’s Manteca, First UMC San Leandro, First UMC Lodi, and as Director of Church Relations and Alumni Student Recruitment at the University of the Pacific, Stockton before retiring in 1992.
 
Darrell enjoyed reading and was a big San Francisco Giant fan.  In earlier years, he was active in the Jedidiah Smith Society.  He was a true country boy at heart and enjoyed living in small towns.  After his wife had passed, he took pleasure in living on his daughter’s property in a small home built for him, where he could spend more time with his grandchildren.  He became active in this small town’s Methodist church before transitioning to a memory care center.
 
He is survived by his children, Jill Wright of Williams CA, Joan Grier of San Leandro CA, and Keith Thomas of Cambria CA. He was predeceased by his wife Donna in 2003 and his daughter Judy Vigor in 1986. Condolences may be sent to Jill Wright at 2453 Engrahm Road, Williams, CA  95987.
 
Time and place for a memorial service are yet to be determined.
