Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
It is with deep sadness that we recently learned that our brother, Rev. Adolphe Bell, died on June 21, 2022.
Adolphe served in the Texas and the Southern California-Arizona Annual Conferences before transferring to California-Nevada in 1969. In our conference he served the Richmond, Easter Hill; Oakland, Shattuck Avenue; and Oakland, First UMC congregations. He retired in 1977.
Adolphe was born in Houston, Texas on April 18, 1939. He loved reading, meeting new people, good conversations, and helping others. Adolphe was a generous person with a giving heart.
He is survived by his wife, Willie Bell of Oakland CA, and by his children, Chelsea Charles of Oakland CA and Alicia McCollum of Brooklyn NY, and by 3 grandchildren.
Gifts in memory of Adolphe may be sent to the United Methodist Committee on Relief, UMCOR, Advance GCFA, PO Box 9068, New York, New York 10087-9068, or donate online at https://www.umcor.org/
Let us continue to give God thanks for Adolphe’s life and witness and hold his family close in prayer. In our living and in our dying, we belong to God! (Romans 14:8)
