Martha Schade

7/2/2018

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

It is with deep sadness that we inform you that our sister, Martha Schade, surviving spouse of Rev. Sigmund Schade, died on July 2, 2018.

Always cheerful and kind, she led a full and exciting life, partnering with her husband of 61 years.  Martha was a graduate of Yuba College and Westmont College, earning her master’s degree while stationed with her husband in Iceland and Real Estate license in Yuba City.  She grew an active piano instruction practice, inspiring many young musicians along the way. Her love and dedication to her family were well known by everyone.

Martha was a faithful companion as her husband served San Francisco: Epworth, Richmond: El Sobrante, the Division of Chaplains, Yuba City: First, and Lodi: Salem churches before retiring in 1990.

She is survived by her children, Marilyn Musielski of Madison, NJ, Rebecca di Luce of Austin, TX, and Dr. Cynthia Schade of Austin, TX, by four Grandchildren and 2 Great-Grandchildren. Her husband Sigmund died in 2008. Condolences may be sent to Rebecca di Luce at 5518 Joe Sayers Avenue, Austin, TX  78756.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 26, 2018, at 2:00 pm at First United Methodist Church, 3101 Colusa Highway, Yuba City, CA  95993.

Gifts in memory of Martha may be sent to the United Methodist Committee on Relief, UMCOR, Advance GCFA, PO Box 9068, New York, New York 10087-9068

Let us continue to give God thanks for Martha’s life and witness and hold her family close in prayer.  In our living and in our dying, we belong to God! (Romans 14:8)
