Lloyd Ash

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

It is with deep sadness that we inform you that Supply pastor Lloyd Ash, spouse of surviving spouse Joan Wheeler Ash, died on Tuesday, March 28, 2017. Lloyd served as a Supply Pastor at the Dixon and Maxwell churches. Lloyd was one of the longest serving CLayMs (Conference Lay Ministers) in the Annual Conference, serving from 1998 – 2008 at Maxwell UMC, from 2008 – 2010 at Dixon UMC, and from 2010 – 2017 again at Maxwell UMC.  Lloyd was an amazing servant of Christ.  He preached at Maxwell the Sunday before he peacefully passed away on March 28.

In addition to his wife Joan, Lloyd is survived by his first wife Rose Ash, and by his children: Dennyce Farrell of Alamo CA, Pamela Taylor of Auburn CA, Margaret Poppelton of Camas  WA, Martha Dahlin of Dixon  CA, and Joan’s children Lisa Weir of Marysville CA, Linda Wright of Fresno CA, Susan Hargadon of Woodland CA, and Nancy Careaga of Woodland  CA; and by 24 Grandchildren and 18 Great-Grandchildren.

Condolences may be sent to Joan Wheeler Ash at 159 Caldwell Circle, Colusa, CA  95932-3129.

The memorial service is scheduled for Friday, April 7 at 1 pm at Dixon UMC, 209 N. Jefferson Street, Dixon, CA 95620 where Rev. Cathy Morris will preside and Sunday April 9, 2017 during the worship service at Maxwell UMC where District Superintendent Rev. David Samelson will preside.

Memorial gifts may be sent in Lloyd’s name to either the Dixon or Maxwell UM Churches.

Let us continue to give God thanks for Lloyd’s life and witness and hold the Ash family close in prayer.  In our living and in our dying, we belong to God! (Romans 14:8)
