Linda Kuruhara

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
 
It is with deep sadness that we inform you that our sister, Linda Kuruhara, spouse of Rev. Dale Kuruhara, died on Sunday, October 21, 2018. 
 
Linda was a faithful companion as her husband began his ministry in the Pacific Northwest Conference, then transferred to the California Nevada conference in 1993, where they served the Berkeley: Methodist United; Patterson: Patterson Federated; Selma: First; and Lindsay: Lindsay UMC churches before retiring in 2009.
 
Linda had a generous and compassionate heart. She was creative and had a gift of connecting people together in friendship and ministry. She loved her family and loved working with children, which led her to educational ministries. Linda was also a powerful servant of God’s justice. As a Diaconal Minister of The UMC she devoted long days to the ministry of advocating for immigrant rights. She was a light to many. 
 
She is survived by her husband, Dale, and their three children, Weslyn Kuruhara of Sacramento, CA, Krysta Kuruhara of Atwater, CA, and Vandy Kuruhara of Sacramento, CA, and by two grandchildren. Condolences may be sent to Dale Kuruhara at 788 Wagon Wheel Lane, Lincoln, CA 95648.
 
A memorial service to celebrate Linda’s life will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 2 p.m. at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 2391 St. Mark’s Way, Sacramento, CA 95864.
 
Memorial gifts may be donated to St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 2391 St. Mark’s Way, Sacramento, CA 95864, earmarked for homeless and justice ministries in Linda’s honor.
 
Let us continue to give God thanks for Linda’s life and witness and hold her family close in prayer. In our living and in our dying, we belong to God! (Romans 14:8)
