Joy Lee McGallian

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
 
It is with deep sadness that we inform you that our sister, Joy Lee McGallian, surviving spouse of the Rev. Philip McGallian, died on Monday, October 15, 2018. 
 
Joy was a faithful companion as her husband served the Meadow Vista; Dutch Flat; Porterville: Grand Avenue; Gazelle; and Mt. Shasta churches before Philip retired in 1997.
 
Joy was a traditional pastor’s wife, always involved in the life of the church, teaching Bible study, organizing women’s ministries – or emptying waste baskets, if that was needed. She loved being outdoors in her garden or taking hikes with her children and grandchildren. She was always gracious and hospitable, opening the McGallian home to anyone in need.
 
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Nies and Susie Butler, both of Penn Valley, CA, and by two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Condolences may be sent to Susie Butler at 12354 Sluice Box Road, Penn Valley, CA 95946-932.
 
A graveside memorial service will be held on Friday, November 9 at 1:00 p.m. at Indian Spring Cemetery, 17542 Indian Springs Road, Penn Valley, CA 95946.
