Elizabeth Williams

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
 
It is with deep sadness that we inform you that our sister, Elizabeth Williams, surviving spouse of Rev. Wayne Williams, died on Friday, August 9, 2019.  
 
Elizabeth was a faithful companion as her husband began his ministry in the New York conference, then followed him in the California-Nevada Annual Conference where he served the Sonoma; Oroville; and Willow Glen, San Jose churches before retiring in 1988.
 
Elizabeth loved to paint and had a passion for gardening, especially caring for her roses. For many years, she led a Bible study group at church and this group of friends kept in close contact even as members, including Elizabeth, moved away. She had a great appreciation for her friends in the conference, most especially on the Conference Claimants Endowment Board and the Board of Pensions.
 
She is survived by her two daughters, Deborah Carney of San Jose, CA and Karen Finley of Oroville, CA, by five grandchildren, and by 10 great-grandchildren.
 
Condolences may be sent to the family at 2436 Cherry Avenue, San Jose, CA 95125.
 
A memorial service will be announced in the next few weeks, to be held at Willow Glen United Methodist Church in San Jose, CA.
