Dianne Winne

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
 
It is with deep sadness that we inform you that our sister, Dianne Winne, spouse of the Rev. Sandy Gess, died on Thursday, May 11, 2017.
 
In addition to her wife, she is survived by her son, Jason Winne-Gess of Oakland, CA. Condolences may be sent to Sandy Gess at 4301 Geary Blvd. San Francisco, CA 94118.
 
The memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Plymouth UCC/The Jazz and Justice Church, 424 Monte Vista Avenue, Oakland, CA  94611.   
 
Dianne was the co-creator with Sandy of “Weave of Faith,” at women’s spiritual life group, and practiced medicine as a geriatrician.  She served elders with compassionate care and longed to see more medical students fill the need for geriatric specialty. One of the greatest joys of Dianne’s life was her adoption with wife Sandy of their son Jason, who will graduate from high school this month.
 
Dianne and Sandy served the Vacaville: St. Paul’s and San Francisco: Park Presidio churches before retiring in 2014.
 
Memorial gifts may be made in Dianne’s name to the University of Nevada Medical School, mailed via Sandy Gess at 4301 Geary Blvd. San Francisco, CA 94118.
 
Let us continue to give God thanks for Dianne’s life and witness and hold her family close in prayer.  In our living and in our dying, we belong to God! (Romans 14:8)
