Charles D. DeCamp

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

It is with deep sadness that we inform you that our brother, Charles D. DeCamp, spouse of the Rev. Donna DeCamp, died on Friday, January 27, 2017. Charles served alongside his wife’s side at San Jose: Willow Glen, Walnut Creek, and Walnut Creek: Tice Valley churches before Donna retired in 2008. He had a great love for airplanes and spent his career serving in the Air Force and working for companies such as IBM where his technical expertise was utilized.  Charles frequently said, “My vocation is my avocation” and continued working until he was forced to retire.  He is remembered for his humor and ingenious mind.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister, Doris White of Louisville, KY, three daughters, two step-daughters and their spouses/life partners:  Michelle and Jimi Hanigan (Montgomery, TX), Nicole DeCamp and Jim Taira (Oklahoma City, OK), Stephanie and James Thomas (Houston, TX), Diana Morrow and Courtney Briggs (Oakland, CA), Amanda Morrow and Matthew White (Portland, OR), by 6 grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren, and one step-great granddaughter, numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and a very special cousin, Douglas Kranz (Mary Alice) of Roswell, GA.

The memorial service is scheduled for February 25, 2017, at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of the Great Commission, Pacific School of Religion, 1798 Scenic Avenue, Berkeley CA  94709.

Let us continue to give God thanks for Charles’ life and witness and hold the De Camp family close in prayer.  In our living and in our dying, we belong to God! (Romans 14:8)
