Bruce Pettit

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

We recently received word about the death of Bruce Pettit, a retired lay employee of the California-Nevada Conference. Bruce died on January 20, 2022.

Bruce served as the Administrative Assistant in the former Golden Gate District office for 11 years until his retirement in 2010. He received a Bishop’s Award for his service to the Church through his work in the Golden Gate District and with the Reconciling Ministries Network. In retirement, he served part time for the Board of Pensions, assisting with pension deposits. A memorial service is planned for March 19, 2022 at 2pm at Bethany United Methodist Church in San Francisco, where Bruce was a long time member. Rev. Sadie Stone will officiate. Gifts in memory of Bruce may be sent to Bethany United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Committee on Relief, or the American Civil Liberties Union.

Let us continue to give God thanks for Bruce's life and witness, and hold his loved ones close in prayer.  In our living and in our dying, we belong to God! (Romans 14:8)
