Bonifacia “Bonnie” Estolas

11/4/2019

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

It is with deep sadness that we inform you that our sister, Bonifacia “Bonnie” Estolas, spouse of Rev. Elpidio “Ped” Estolas, died on Monday, November 4, 2019.

Bonnie was a faithful companion as her husband began his ministry in the Philippines. In our conference, he served among us at the Livingston, United Oakland and Fellowship Vallejo, Williams and Arbuckle, Faith San Jose and Lakewood Sunnyvale, Wasco, Tuolumne and Soulsbyville, Riverside Sacramento and Evangelical UM Fellowship, Stockton, and Sanger churches.

Bonnie was an elementary school teacher for 19 years in the Philippines and continued this passion for an additional 22 years, once she and Ped moved to California. She loved singing in the church choir and served as music director. She was a great cook and loved preparing meals for family gatherings during the holidays and summer picnics.

She is survived by her husband, “Ped” Estolas; her children: Bella Brusa, Gladys Estolas, and Elpidio Estolas, Jr.; and by nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her son Lemuel Estolas predeceased her in May of 2019. Condolences may be sent to Ped at 448 Hummingbird Drive, Lodi, CA 95240.

There will be a viewing on Nov. 15, 2019 from 2 to 8 p.m., and a graveside service on Nov. 16, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi, and a memorial service will be held on November 16, 2019 at 11. .am at Gracepoint Baptist Church, 801 S. Lower Sacramento Rd., Lodi, CA 95242.

Gifts in memory of Bonnie may be sent to St. Paul UMC in Stockton, CA.

Let us continue to give God thanks for Bonnie’s life and witness and hold her family close in prayer. In our living and in our dying, we belong to God! (Romans 14:8)
