William Hartman

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
 
It is with deep sadness that we inform you that our brother, William Hartman, spouse of the Rev. Antoinette (“Toni”) Hartman, died on Friday, July 14, 2017.
 
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brother, Jim Hartman and his sister, Joellen Petlin, both of Chico, CA, and by two step-children, Roselyn Estep and Nick Estep.   Condolences may be sent to Toni Hartman at 104 Green Heron Drive, Yreka, CA  96097.
 
The memorial service is scheduled for August 26, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the Yreka United Methodist Church in Yreka, CA. The Rev. Rod Brayfindley will preside.   
 
William was an engineer in the Forest Service, and was active in the Yreka UMC Tailgate ministry with homeless and hungry persons. He also served in the Vacation Bible School.  His passion was the art of historic banjo playing, an amazing talent that is very hard to find.
 
Gifts in memory of William may be sent to Yreka UMC, 502 N. Fairchild Street, Yreka CA  96097, earmarked for the Tailgate Ministry program.
 
William and Toni served the Chico: Aldersgate, and Yreka churches together.
 
Let us continue to give God thanks for William’s life and witness and hold the Hartman family close in prayer.  In our living and in our dying, we belong to God! (Romans 14:8)
