Hisako Horikoshi

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Hisako Horikoshi, surviving spouse of Rev. Casper Horikoshi, died on Friday, August 21, 2015. She is survived by four children: Elliot Horikoshi of Danville, CA, Nancy Prather of Marin City, CA, Katherine Horikoshi of Richmond, CA, and Peter Horikoshi of Alameda, CA; by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Casper Horikoshi died in 2001. Condolences may be sent to Katherine Horikoshi, 6103 Columbia Avenue, Richmond, CA 94804.

A funeral will be held on September 26 at 11 am, at the Lake Park UMC, 281 Santa Clara Avenue, Oakland, CA 9461. Rev. John Oda will preside.

Casper and Hisako originally served in the Oregon-Idaho and Pacific-Northwest Conferences before transferring to the War Relocation Center in Heart Mountain, WY, the Japanese Florin, Walnut Grove, San Jose: Wesley and other churches before retiring in 1978.

Memorial gifts may be sent in Hisako’s name to the church or charity of one’s choice, or to the Lake Park United Methodist Church, 281 Santa Clara Ave, Oakland, 94610.
