Bonnie Whitmore

Bonnie Whitmore, surviving spouse of the Rev. Richard W. Whitmore, died on Tuesday, January 31, 2012.

Survivors include four children: the Rev. Faith Whitmore of Carmichael (formerly pastor of St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Sacramento and now executive director of Francis House), Rick Whitmore of Salinas, Wendell Whitmore of Paradise, and Kathy Whitmore of Linwood, New Jersey; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, February 9 at 2 p.m. at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 2391 St. Mark's Way, Sacramento, CA 95864. The Rev. Alan Jones, pastor of St. Mark's, will preside.

Dick and Bonnie Whitmore served originally in the South Georgia Conference before transferring to California-Nevada in 1953. In this Conference they served the Coleville, Smith Valley, Reno: First, Sacramento: Centennial, Santa Clara: First, Burlingame, Vallejo: First, Saratoga: Grace, and San Carlos: Carlmont churches before retiring in 1989.
