Ovidia Brackney, surviving spouse of the Rev. Eugene Brackney, died on Thursday, June 28, 2012. Survivors include a daughter, Kathryn Truex; son-in-law, John Hiscox; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service is planned for Monday, October 15 at 1 p.m., at Nevada City United Methodist Church.

Eugene Brackney served in the California-Nevada Conference from 1942 until his death in 1985.
