Retired pastor Gordon Fairchild died on Friday, August 21, 2009, in Sacramento, California. He is survived by three children: Ginger Stimac of Sacramento, Randall Fairchild of Sacramento, and Martha Fairchild of Citrus Heights; and by four grandchildren. The memorial service was held on Saturday, September 12 at 1 p.m., at St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Sacramento. The Revs. Faith Whitmore and Jerry Smith presided.
Gordon Fairchild served the Chico: Trinity, San Francisco: Geneva Avenue, Reedley: First, Elk Grove, Sacramento: Wesley, and Florin churches before retiring in 1991.
