Rev. Dale Baker

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
It is with deep sadness that we inform you that our brother, Rev. Dale Baker, died on Sunday August 30, 2020.
Dale began his ministry in the Nebraska Conference in 1947, then served in the Northern Illinois and Oregon Idaho Conferences before transferring to what is today the California-Nevada Conference in 1963. In our conference, he served at the following United Methodist churches in the state of California:  Grace in Santa Cruz, and First and Forest Hill churches in Pacific Grove, until retiring in 1988.
Pastor Dale was known for his wonderful sense of humor.  He and his wife Jean loved to travel and led several trips to the Holy Land.  He took great joy serving in ministry and in retirement, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his sons, David W. Baker of Lakeside OR and Don W. Baker of Jackson WY, by 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Douglas J. Baker in 2010 and his wife Jean in 2019. Condolences may be sent to Don Baker at PO Box 30000, PMB 493, Jackson, WY 83002.
Pastor Dale will be laid to rest at El Carmelo Cemetery in Pacific Grove, CA during a private service officiated by Rev. Luke Ham.  Gifts in honor and memory of Dale may be given to First United Methodist Church of Pacific Grove or to Church of the Wayfarer in Carmel.
Let us continue to give God thanks for Dale’s life and witness and hold his family close in prayer.  In our living and in our dying, we belong to God! (Romans 14:8)
