Retired pastor Mark Wendland died on Wednesday, June 11, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Wendland, who resides at 59 Via Encanto, Monterey, CA 93940.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, July 5, 2014, 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Pacific Grove. The Rev. Pamela Cummings will preside.
Mark came to California-Nevada from the Nebraska Conference. He served appointments at the Sacramento: First, Monterey, Turlock, Lafayette, Pacific Grove and Carmel churches and then served as the chaplain at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula before retiring in 2014.
Memorial gifts may be sent to the Mark R. Wendland Memorial Fund at the Community Foundation of Monterey County, 2354 Garden Rd., Monterey, CA 93940 for support of the chaplaincy, palliative care and therapeutic music programs at Community Hospital.
