Rev. JoAnn Juniel

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
 
It is with deep sadness that we inform you that our sister, Rev. JoAnn Juniel, died on Sunday, May 6, 2018.
 
JoAnn has been a light among us, serving and loving for a long time.  She grew up in McCloud, California, where at an early age she loved riding horses.  JoAnn came to Sacramento where she completed a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work.  From there she completed a Master of Arts degree at Atlanta University.  After clarifying her call to ministry, she completed a Master of Divinity degree at Eastern Theological Seminary in Philadelphia.
 
While she had a successful career as a social worker, her true joy was serving as a United Methodist Pastor.  Pastor JoAnn was known for her love of her church members and for the whole Church of God.
 
JoAnn served the Elmhurst, Sacramento: Hope, Sacramento: Wesley, Sacramento: Florin, Sacramento: Oak Park, and Rancho Cordova churches. She was serving Rancho Cordova UMC and anticipating retirement this July when she passed away.
 
She is survived by her sister, Eddie Mae Juniel, of Sacramento, CA.  Condolences may be sent to her at 3277 11th Avenue, Sacramento, CA  95817.
 
There will be a Graveside service for JoAnn on Thursday, May 17, at 1pm at Camellia Memorial Lawn, 10221 Jackson Road, Sacramento, CA 95827
 
There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, May 19th, 1:00 pm at Hope United Methodist Church, 6161 Valley Hi Drive, Sacramento, CA 95823

Let us continue to give God thanks JoAnn’s life and witness and hold her family close in prayer.  In our living and in our dying, we belong to God! (Romans 14:8)
