Support Holy Cross UMC Night Without a Bed

Last year some of us participated in the 1st Family Promise National Night Without a Bed campaign. This year you can show your support for children and families battling homelessness and raise awareness of this crisis by joining Family Promise’s 2nd National Night Without a Bed Sleep-Out on Saturday, June 26, 2021.

This year we will host two events at Holy Cross UMC on Saturday, June 26th; an old-fashioned BBQ chicken dinner and a camp-out in the church yard and parking lot at 1200 W. Hammer Lane, Stockton, CA. Our goal is to raise $2500 for Family Promise San Joaquin.

The Old-Fashioned BBQ Chicken Dinner will be served from 6-7:30 pm with a suggested $12 donation for adults and $6 donation for children 10 & under. The menu is Chicken, Baked Beans, Corn-on-the-Cob, and Watermelon. The deadline to get tickets is 6/21/2021. For tickets, please contact Temple Gallagher at 209-986-8367. Come and share the experience with family and friends!

The Camp-Out in the Holy Cross UMC Yard and Parking Lot will be from 7pm-7am. Bring your tent & set up camp in the Holy Cross yard or park in the church parking lot & sleep in your car. Participants will be served continental breakfast on Sunday morning. Call the church office (209)472-2177 or email holycrossumc@sbcglobal.net to reserve your space for the camp-out. The deadline to reserve a space is 6/25/2021.

Then ask your friends and family to sponsor you by donating to Family Promise! You can donate here

If you’re not able to camp-out at Holy Cross UMC, you can still participate: • Wrap up in a blanket on the couch, • Sleep in a sleeping bag on the living room floor, • Put up a tent in your backyard. Be sure to post photos on social media or the church’s website. And ask friends and family to sponsor you in support of your efforts to help families battling homelessness. All proceeds will be donated to our local affiliate: Family Promise San Joaquin.
