At Sierra Service Project, we've said over and over again that we wish we could be serving with our partner communities in person. You probably feel the same about your church communities. That said, we have already been blown away at the creativity and compassion that can emerge when we connect remotely. This reminds us the spirit of God is evident no matter where we find ourselves, and that we have plentiful opportunity to "build faith and strengthen community through service to others," no matter the circumstances.
We invite you to join us for SSP’s free online program, to foster togetherness even while physically apart by exploring what it means to be ‘Grounded’ during this season – in faith, community, and love. Youth participating in SSP's online summer program have already said:
"It is hard to find things to do when we are stuck at home, but this was quite fun. SSP gives you strong connections with people you never thought you would connect with before."
The program is open to groups and individuals of all ages, hosted via Zoom, and will run each weekday through July 17 - so sign up now before the summer program concludes! It's easy to participate as a group or an individual, for as much or as little as you're able to attend, throughout the day or week. This program is able to be free of cost to participants, thanks to the Cares Act's Paycheck Protection Program. Register on our volunteer platform: MySSP.SierraServiceProject.net.
Contact SSP with any questions about the online program, or how your congregation, family, or friends can be involved!
