You are invited to celebrate God’s faithfulness and 100 years of ministry in Dinuba California with Palm UMC!
As the Japanese population in the south Central Valley grew more than a century ago, Methodist ministers from around the state began to notice there was no church of any kind to serve their needs. A church plant was started by Takusei Mizuno (who had been exiled from Japan for his Christian faith) and the service of consecration was held in October of 1922.
Through seasons of ministry grown and hard times such as displacement to internment camps during WWII, and more recently COVID 19, Palm United Methodist Church has continued to proclaim the gospel and serve our community, with Dinuba First UMC merging into Palm in 2015. So the faith community of Palm UMC now invites you to join us in celebrating 100 years of ministry in Dinuba, California, with a worship service on Sunday, October 9, at 10 am and outdoor lunch to follow.
You may RSVP for the event by September 25 and you may also reserve a souvenir booklet with Palm’s history by contacting us at 559 591 0746 or email@example.com. We ask all to wear masks indoors.
