Editor's note: Mort, the snail, is a lively recurring character in the Children's Worship video series created by the Pentecost Circuit. Both Mort and Lamb-see-do attended 2020 Annual Conference and filed daily written and video reports to give children an entry point into the work of the church in California-Nevada. Their reports were popular with people of all ages and so, back by popular demand, the duo report here on the Service of Commissioning, Ordination, Licensing and Recognition of the Orders which took place on Sunday June 27th.
There were lots of cars in the parking lot but we got to park in the shade. I get hot. Then we got to go up a bunch of stairs to see the balcony! We could see the whole insides of the church! It was BIG. I didn’t get scared just because the stairs creaked. But Lamb-see-do did. LOL! I like creaky sounds.
We slid around some of the pews and then took pictures of people in robes and stuff. They were practicing where to walk and sit and everything. So, we had time to take lots more pictures and wave at people.
Then we had to be quiet when the bishop started talking. Lamb-see-do said we were “live streaming” but I didn’t believe her because there was only water in a dish not all over the floor. She is silly.
The people in robes got to kneel in front of the bishop and get prayed for. It was real special and cool. I liked the red stoles they got. I want one. They’re cool. I want to be cool.
We got to sing, too. I liked that! Lamb-see-do said that was on live stream, too. But, I said, “uh, huh” and kept dancing. I stayed cool because I didn’t have to wear a robe.
Then, we got a blessing and everyone went downstairs to eat! I like eating! There were lots of salads! Lambseedo and I had leftover cookies to take home! Yay!
And everybody was hugging—yuck! … and taking photos—yay! I like photos! Did you watch the video I made with all the photos we took?
The end—but Lamb-see-do says it is not the end, just the beginning. She is silly. We went home. I took a nap. The end.
