Register now for Lay Development Summit: Conference wide virtual gathering April 30th

Laity across California-Nevada will gather virtually on April 30th for a time of celebration and strategic planning to deepen mission engagement and impact as well as to strengthen clergy - lay collaboration.

All laity who are district, circuit or local church Lay Leaders are invited to attend and local church lay leaders are strongly encouraged to attend.

Deadline for registration is April 29, 2022.  Click here to register.

Conference Lay Leader Micheal Pope shared, "Laity Leaders you are invited to attend our upcoming Laity Summit! Your District Lay Leaders and Members of the Lay Leadership Development Committee are excited to bring this opportunity to learn more about the role of Lay Leadership in our conference.  The agenda is set up to provide time for us to worship, learn and connect!
We look forward to spending this time with you...please register today!"

The Summit theme is “Engage, Experience and Explore.”

Engage  We encourage you to engage in the online conference District Lay Leader, Circuit Lay Leader or Lay Leader of your local church! You will receive a login to the online Zoom platform for the day of the event.  This is a great opportunity to engage in leadership development and then go back to your local context and share what you have learned.

Experience  We hope you will look at this experience as any opportunity to connect with other lay leaders of the conference.  Our prayer is that you will experience a revisioning of your spiritual gifts and how they might move laity leadership within the California/Nevada Conference.

Explore   During the Summit the membership of the CLLDC will explore all the avenues of learning, knowledge and wisdom available to you as conference resources. Our prayer is that you will explore all of the possible lay leadership roles within our conference.

God is continually moving and calling lay persons to exercise their unique gifts to be God’s blessing in the world, stated Mary Cheng, Director of Leadership Development. "The Laity Summit opens a space for us to share what God is doing in our midst and to learn about opportunities for further leadership development. I look forward to meeting our faithful laity leaders from across the connection."

The Conference Committee on Lay Leadership Development will host the Laity Summit. The Committee is charged with developing and promoting programs that help cultivate an adequate understanding of the theological and biblical basis for ministry of the laity among the members of churches of the annual conference, and to give special emphasis to programs and services that will enable laity of all ages to serve more effectively as leaders in both church and community.
