Becoming a grandparent changes everything.
Karen Foster, Accounting Manager for the Cal-Nev Conference, first became a grandparent in 2018 with the birth of granddaughter Ellie in Nashville. In October 2020, Ellie became a sister to twins Maverick and Chloe. Karen, who is a twin herself, spent much of October in Nashville changing diapers and rocking babies. Anyone who knows Karen knows how important family is to her, so it came as no surprise when she decided to retire to Nashville, effective at the end of February.
Karen spent most of her career in the Air Force, during which time she was deployed to South Korea, Kuwait and Iraq. After 20 years, she retired from the military and joined the annual conference staff in August 2008. She worked tirelessly to improve the conference’s payroll and accounting systems. In 2015, she played a pivotal role in the relocation of the conference office.
Karen has been the manager of the onsite conference business office for eleven Annual Conference Sessions.
We are grateful for Karen and her commitment to our shared ministry. You can express your thanks and good wishes to Karen at email@example.com.
The Conference HR Team has conducted a search for an accounting manager. We are happy to announce the hiring of Dawn Montgomery, effective February 15th. Dawn has a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and twelve years of experience in non-profit accounting. We look forward to welcoming Dawn to the UM Center team and to the Cal-Nevada United Methodist Church family.
