Finding Peace in an Anxious World

Finding Peace in an Anxious World

“The Serenity Prayer” continues to be profoundly relevant during these uncertain times, before, during and moving out of this year of pandemic uncertainty. Using prayer as a scaffold, Finding Peace in an Anxious World explores ways to discover peace through scriptural and spiritual disciplines so that we can be rooted in God and energized to live fully as disciples of Christ.

The text, written by staff of the Urban Village Church and edited by Erin James-Brown, uses the book of Proverbs, various prayer styles and “The Serenity Prayer” as a guide to help the Church find its way through anxiety, worry, and fear and move towards God’s peace that surpasses all understanding.

Rev. Erin James-Brown, former pastor for Urban Village Church and director of discipleship, believes that gathering people together in the name of Jesus for the conversion of individuals and communities to increasingly act like Jesus, talk like Jesus, and desire the very things Jesus desires is where we catch glimpses of the kingdom of God.
