March 25, 2021 | by California Nevada Committee on Native American Ministries
In years before the COVID-19 pandemic, the Committee on Native American Ministries received special offerings from an average of 167 churches from across the California Nevada conference. These offerings allowed CONAM to support our three Native American local churches and their ministries, as well as support the training of Native American Leaders in our conference.
Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, only 51 churches were able to collect and send special offerings for Native American Sunday in 2020. This has resulted in a drastic reduction in our ability to fund critical Native American ministries.
We are hoping you will consider taking up a special offering for Native American Ministries in 2021 to help us continue to support our Native American communities.
Native American Ministries Sunday will be April 18, 2021, but we welcome offerings at any time of year which would be feasible for your congregation. If possible, an offering earlier than 4/18/21 would be greatly appreciated!
To help reacquaint your congregation with our California-Nevada Native American ministries, we have attached a video for you to use in worship or on social media. Click here to view the video. We have also included a link below to take you to Native American Sunday resources. Click here to view the resources.
We thank you for taking the time to consider helping our ministry among the Native American United Methodists of the California Nevada Conference.
