California-Nevada Conference staff Shari Sandoval transitions to Board of Pensions

The California-Nevada Conference office announces the departure of Shari Sandoval, Administrative Assistant, who served many departments throughout her 20+ years of service at the conference center including Disaster Response Ministry, Volunteers in Mission, Youth and Young People's Ministry and Camping Ministry.

Thankfully, Shari will remain within the California-Nevada family as she takes on the role of Enrollment Manager at the California-Nevada Board of Pensions. She will serve with Executive Officer and Chief Benefits Officer, Paul Extrum-Fernandez,  and Andrea Winchester, Associate Benefits Officer at the conference Board of Pensions.

Paul shared, "We’re thrilled to welcome Shari to the Board of Pensions as our new Enrollment Manager. With over 20 years of experience in the conference office, we know she will bring a spirit of dedication and a commitment of service to all the colleagues we support."

During her tenure at the Conference center, Shari touched countless lives in her work. She was instrumental in organizing decades of camping seasons for families and young people, helped organize and manage certifications processes for volunteers and was the point person for relief and recovery teams in the field during wildfires, floods and earthquakes.

Rev. Jorge Domingues, the Executive Director of Connectional Ministries, supervised Shari partially in the last four years. He shared these words about Shari: “Shari has been a blessing for our conference office. She has lived through many transitions and was always helpful to any new staff who joined the conference. She also connected with so many of our volunteers, our church campers and young people. Recently, she has become instrumental in helping our Disaster Response Ministry Team to monitor our supplies, be ready with gift cards for fire survivors any time we headed to the local assistant centers. In her quiet and discreet way, she was a blessing to many.”

While we will surely miss Shari and are thankful for her innumerable contributions over the years, the conference staff is gratified to know she will still be in the midst of mission work in California-Nevada.
